Various parameters are measured and analyzed to determine the machine characteristics such as discharge, water levels, pressures and heads, power, position (openings) of the blades, temperatures, oscillatory parameters (pressure fluctuations, vibrations) and many others depending on the type of machine and field test requirements. Steady state and transient operating regimes can be tested for deeper understanding of the machine state and behavior.
